About this Case Study

Undergoing agile transformation and implementing SAFe in a rapidly expanding organisation is a challenging journey to embark upon – in fact, it’s a journey that never really ends. Success will depend on the ability to ensure that change sticks and that a continual cycle of improvement and adaptation is established, requiring relentless effort and commitment from leaders. This session will look at how we can aggregate agile metrics and key business data to help leaders achieve the ultimate goal of improving value delivery to customers by supporting:

  • better alignment between strategy and execution
  • better and quicker decision-making
  • insight into operational areas in need of optimisation or waste elimination
  • creation of early warning systems
  • visibility of cause and effect for learning
This will be demonstrated by a walkthrough of Fourth Tech Insight, a self-service business intelligence tool harnessing data from key sources such as Agile Central and Salesforce, developed at Fourth in order to provide one version of the truth and champion data-driven decision making across the organisation. We'll explore how data can be used to create valuable insights into the following areas:

  • investments and strategic decision making
  • delivery (build and progress)
  • risk management
  • predictability
  • quality and releases

About the Speakers

Borja Soler

After graduating in Industrial Engineering in my hometown, Barcelona, I completed a Master’s in Engineering with Finance in the UK, soon after I joined the Agile Portfolio Office at Fourth as a graduate.

With my previous experience with Business Intelligence during a lengthy internship at Hewlett Packard, and my passion for data, I helped form up our internal self-service business intelligence tool, contributing to continual improvement and optimisation of our agile operations.

As a Lead Portfolio Analyst, I look after the Agile Operational Insights area to ensure that we have reliable, transparent and insightful business indicators in a shape that will help our key stakeholders drive their decisions on a daily basis, backed with data!
