About this Workshop

What do broken windows theory, the 3 strikes law and pension maturities all have in common?

They are all examples of systems in action.

But what happens when the best of intentions to make a system better lead us to the exact opposite - making the system worse? Having a deeper understanding of systems thinking is key to how the system will behave. People often rush to judgement without fully analysing a system and make a hasty assessment or decision.

Systems thinking is a framework for looking at something as a system and understanding how all the components of that system contribute to achieving the outcome it is supposed to accomplish.

In this interactive workshop, we will analyse some failed real-life examples of systems where not understanding the system led to some unintended consequences. We'll also practise systems thinking.
